Our Story

From Port Hueneme’s Green Mile to Your Oxnard Cannabis Dispensary

Our story didn’t begin in a boardroom—it began right here in Ventura County, California.


In 2018, Higher Purpose Cannabis (HPC) made history as the first licensed woman-owned cannabis dispensary to open on Port Hueneme’s famed “Green Mile.”Originally founded by Beth Thuna as an independent, woman- and Latina-founded cannabis business, HPC was created with a simple purpose: to provide a welcoming cannabis experience centered around community, education, quality, and genuine care.


For more than five years, our Port Hueneme dispensary had the privilege of serving thousands of customers throughout Port Hueneme, Oxnard, Ventura, and the surrounding Ventura County communities. We listened to our customers, learned what mattered to them, and built relationships that went far beyond the cannabis products on our shelves.


As our community grew, so did our vision. We wanted to take everything our customers had come to love about HPC and create an even better experience for the next chapter of our story.

A New Beginning: HPC OXNARD

In October 2023, we opened the doors to HPC Oxnard at 360 W. Esplanade Drive, bringing the Higher Purpose experience to a larger, modern space designed around our customers.


We celebrated our grand opening alongside the community, with former NFL star Bill Romanowski joining us for the ribbon cutting as we officially began our next chapter in Oxnard.


Today, HPC Oxnard is proudly our flagship cannabis dispensary in Ventura County. By bringing our focus to one location, we’re able to put our energy, experience, and passion into creating an Oxnard dispensary that feels welcoming, knowledgeable, convenient, and distinctly connected to the community we serve.
